Description
Located on the ground floor of Lonja del Comercio, an old building that in 1996 was turned into the first modern office building in the Cuban capital, the Mercurio (Mercury) opened its doors on 27 January 1997. It owes its name to the Roman god whose statue is placed on top of the building dome. The favorite choice for business people and foreign visitors, this stylish café is noted for its exquisite treatment and excellent menu combining meat and shellfish with tropical fruit flavors. Sandwiches and light food are served for reasonable prices in its outdoor area at Plaza de San Francisco (St. Francis Square). The Mercurio staff has extensive experience in organizing celebrations at Lonja del Comercio building and other locations. From here, visitors may enjoy a view of St. Francis of Assisi Convent, currently a cultural complex with one of the best concert halls in town. In this wonderful environment, the Mercurio, not far from Café del Oriente and Marqués de San Felipe y Santiago de Bejucal Hotel, is an ideal place for executive or informal meetings. Read More
